Kilroy WAS here...

Well, hey!
After a brief repose, I am here to make a new post. :)
This week is just one of those weeks...you know?
Things are just moving along, and that's alright.
Spring is under way. Not officially, as the calender would tell you. But weather-wise, we are on the verge!

The latest--

Earlier this week, I made the decision NOT to do the spring production through our local "theater program".
It was a pretty tough decision to make, if I'm being honest. I really enjoy acting and I like the director a lot.
That being said, maybe I look a little cynical or faithless for sitting this one out. But I personally don't see an amateur drama club putting together a musical in six weeks. Not with any continuity. And maybe I'm a little pretentious, but I see myself above mediocrity. I refuse to associate with something that is going to be "just okay" at best. You know?  I feel that I definitely made the right choice on that, for me. To quote pop duo Roxette's 1988 single* (though, a little out of context)-- "Listen to your heart; there's nothing else you can do."

Today, I got my driver's license. Woo hoo! bout time! yada yada yada; I know. But it's exciting, for me. I'll soon have a vehicle with which I can run my sisters around. Maybe take my girl out every now and then. It will certainly be useful. To celebrate said accomplishment, I went out to Happy China for lunch. I ate tons buttery potatoes, crab rangoons, and vegetable lo mein. Woot, pescatarianism! After lunch, not feeling much like returning to classes, I came home and watched a couple episodes of Criminal Minds...well one and 3/4 of an episode. I fell asleep late in the second. But I had seen the ending of that one previously, so all is well.

That's all for now. It had just been a while since I'd posted, and I felt it necessary.

*In regards to this song, I didn't know it was originally done by Roxette. The first person that actually came to mind was Celine Dion, though I couldn't tell you why. I then remembered that this song was pretty big a few years ago, because it had been redone as a dance track. Belgian dance group DHT was responsible for that one, in 2005, but Cascada also did it later, and that was the version I'd heard. All of this information I have gleaned from that ever helpful website, Wikipedia.

I never liked the dance version. I do like the one you had referred to in your post initially. and... I think you made the right decision. If you questioned it at all, it was probably not right to go through with it. If you weren't stoked about your senior year production, it wasn't worth doing. Kudos for following your heart.
