I'm still getting accustomed to life at ISU. I'm having a blast and I've always got something to do if I want it, and it's nice to have the freedom to NOT go out and do something if that is what I choose (which I'm not choosing so much. I'd be crazy to at this point!).
Today was Donaghy Day which basically means the first half of many of ISU's students mornings was dedicated to volunteer work around Terre Haute. I myself got up later than I should and missed the opening program at the Hulman Center to start that day and very nearly missed taking part. From the Hulman Center many students loaded buses and went to various places around town. I lucked out and met up with a group of guys who were walking to there location and jumped in with them. We went to an Adult Living facility just a few blocks from campus and cleaned out their garage for them. It only took us about an hour and a half and we were done. It was a good feeling to have taken part in at least a LITTLE something that was so selfless, though.
After Donaghy Day came the ISU Fest which is still going on, now. All kinds of information about different programs around the school, food, free stuff. A good time!
I went to the job fair next and filled out a few applications. I really hope I get a position on the school paper. And if I could get on at the pie place as well...That would be amazing. Just keep your fingers crossed for me!
At some point I need to pick up my books (the ones that are still in stock! I have to order a good amount. Probably shouldn't have waited so long!) because tomorrow! classes start.
Thanks for staying patient with my excitement infused postings about college.
I'm sure it will wear off a bit over time.
Love you guys.

I'm so glad you are getting involved. Feels great to help others just for the sake of doing it.
