Tonight I write...

It's sad how spoiled we are here in the United States (or any first world nation, really) as opposed to the rest of the world. I mean, really. I just posted a facebook status about how unfortunate I am because I can't take a hot shower this very second. So what if the pilot light went out and I would have to take a luke-warm shower as opposesd to a hot one? There are places in the world that don't even have fresh water to DRINK much less take a hot shower everyday. I am going on about this via a BLOG I am posting using my 32 gigabyte iPod Touch. Really I am concerned? Yeah, actually I am. I just think I should be thankful for all of this. I shouldn't complain about things I have no right to complain about. I don't even pay for the water I use. I want to deserve what I have, but I probably really don't. I want to do something to at least change that and then maybe help those who are less fortunate than I, and believe me, I know there are a lot. But at least I have a cognative awareness that my outlook could be healthier. It's a start, right?

You can't compare your life to those of a third world nation. To you change is uncomfortable. If your used to no hot water: no biggie. But it's something you've become accostomed to, making it an inconvenience. So... keeping those people in MIND as you live your life... remembering them... will make you more conscious of your blessings, but it doesn't mean that cold water isn't frustrating.
