I am hanging out with some kids in Rhoads tonight. The kid's room that I am in lives in the room that Nate May lived in last year. It's crazy being on this floor again; most of which was spent in this in very room. It is set up differently but honestly...I am typing this with my eyes closed just laying on one of the beds and I can just feel how the room was set up when it was Nate's. The tv, the beds, and everything... It's a really good night-- drinking a little bit (or more than a little bit)... I am extremely excited about this semester. I'm already forging new relationships with the residents and strengthening relationships with some residents that I already knew. Tonight is just what I needed after three days of rigorous (though fulfilling) training.
Just a few minutes ago I was downstairs in the lobby coming back in from outside and I ran into a girl who I had seen around the building a few times since being here. Ashlynn Garner. Tanner Zellers? From Oil Belt Music camp? His ex-girl friend. I was at camp with her a couple years and did IMEA with her once. I stopped her and told her I recognized her and in our conversation we shared memories and just shared our excitement about how our paths had led us to meeting up again.
College is awesome. Life in general is awesome, and it is nights like this that make it easy to stop and realize just how true that is.
