So, I am going to start writing. I've got off to false starts before. I've considered writing a longer work of fiction multiple times. I've dabbled in the idea of writing short stories. However, I intend to get on the ball an actually produce some sort of material.
I signed up to partipate in NaNoWriMo this year. What is NaNoWriMo, you might ask? Well, it stands for National Novel Writing Month. It started back in 2009 and basically it challenges you write a 50,000 word (or more) novel in one month. You start November 1st and your novel must be submitted by 11:59 PM on November 30th. There is no entry fee and the novels are not judged alongside other participants. It is solely about dedication to the task. Everyone who finishes is a winner. I think it will be fun, taxing, annoying, exhilerating, frustrating, and a good learning opportunity. Join me here!
Obviously, a novel produced in one month is not going to be high quality material. It's definitely about quantity over quality in this case. But I'd like so see what I can do without such time constraints, and by the time November gets here hopefully be a little more prepared to write SOMETHING. So, effective immediately I am going to be writing. This isn't stuff I'll post on here or elsewhere online, right off. I want to see what I can do first. But I'll keep you up dated on how it is going. Feel free to ask me about what is going on and how I am progressing. I could use the encouragement, and if I know that maybe someone would be interested in reading something eventually it will help keep the creative juices flowing.
Lots of love,
kylegene
